Following a meeting of the North Atlantic Council to discuss future strategy and approaches to European security, President Bush and Lord Robertson spoke to reporters about the meeting and the future of the alliance. Among the issues they addressed were U.S. plans to develop missile defenses, relations with Russia, tensions in the Middle East, and peacekeeping efforts in the Balkans.
