Bill Rauch talked about his book Politicking: How to Get Elected, Take Action, and Make an Impact in Your Community, published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. The author offered his advice on how to have a career in politics from how to run a successful campaign to how to handle day to day activities as a public servant. He became the mayor of Beaufort, South Carolina after many years of working for Ed Koch, mayor of New York City. Mayor Rauch also gave a detailed account of the campaign against John McCain in the 2000 South Carolina Republican primary. After the discussion, he answered questions from the audience. close
