Brookings Institution scholars talked about a report they released, “Restoring Fiscal Sanity: How to Balance the Budget.” The book analyzed the federal budget deficit and suggests ways to balance the budget. Panelists presented an overview of the book, after which a panel of former government officials discussed the pros and cons of a deficit budget. After their presentations, the participants answered audience members' questions.

The second panel, Brookings Scholars who contributed chapters to the book, talked about solutions for balancing the budget, which included the “small government” concept. After their presentations, they answered audience members' questions. close
