Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge spoke to members of the press about homeland security and changes made in response to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. He described efforts to coordinate activities between intelligence and law enforcement agencies, and the need for further work in this area. He also spoke about his department’s work to aid state and local first responders. He addressed changes in transportation security. Following his remarks, Sec.
