President Bush spoke at the National Peace Officers memorial service held at the U.S. Capitol. In his remarks he talked about the sacrifices and tradition of service by uniformed security personnel and paid tribute to those killed or wounded in the line of duty. Following his remarks he spoke informally to family members in attendance.

Prior to the formal ceremonies the arrivals of dignitaries, musical tributes, and parade of colors was shown. After the president’s departure the names of the fallen and wounded were read. close
