Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Justice Department, and American Red Cross officials spoke to reporters to warn relief effort donators of fraudulent charity websites, including some that pretend to be major organizations like the Red Cross. Ms. Elcano told reporters the Red Cross was prepared to file civil lawsuits against operators of websites who did not promptly shut down when ordered to do so by the FBI. Following their remarks, the officials responded to questions and comments from the reporters. close
