Andrea Mitchell, chief foreign correspondent for NBC News, discussed her career in journalism and her memoir Talking Back: ...to Presidents, Dictators, and Assorted Scoundrels, published by Viking. She was interviewed by Robert Lichter, president of the Center for Media and Public Affairs, which conducts scientific studies of the news and entertainment media.

Andrea Mitchell is the chief foreign correspondent for NBC. Previously she was NBC’s White House correspondent. She is married to Alan Greenspan, chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.

Robert Lichter is president of the Center for Media and Public Affairs. He is the author of several books on the role of the media in society including: The Nightly News Nightmare (2002); It Ain’t Necessarily So: How Media Remake the Scientific Picture of Reality (2001); and Peepshow: Media and Politics in an Age of Scandal (2000). close
