The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, in partnership with the Parkinson’s community, brought together a panel of leading physicians, scientists, and caregivers to provide an overview of the newest advances in Parkinson’s disease. Researchers discussed genetic aspects of the disease, new approaches to therapeutics, and environmental and other factors that may impact the onset of Parkinson’s. Members of the panel used charts, graphs, and photography to discuss their work. Following the panel, the participants responded to questions and comments from members of the audience. Mr. Kondracke, author of Saving Milly: Love, Politics, and Parkinson’s Disease, published by Ballantine Books, moderated the event.
