As part of the 2005 Conference titled, “The Long Hard Slog: Covering the Iraq War at Home and Abroad,” Mr. Christenson moderated a panel on the role of journalists as first responders during Hurricane Katrina. Panelists discussed the similarities in covering the largest natural disaster in the history of the United States with the ongoing war in Iraq. Following their discussion, the participants responded to questions and comments from members of the audience. close
