Live NASA coverage of Space Shuttle Discovery was shown. Live launch commentary is by NASA Launch Commentator Bruce Buckingham.

The countdown continued toward the first shuttle launch since Discovery last flew in July 2005. It was the second flight since Columbia exploded in 2003. The crew is Commander Steve Lindsey; Pilot Mark Kelly; mission specialists Michael Fossum, Lisa Nowak, Stephanie Wilson, Piers Sellers and Thomas Reiter of the European Space Agency.

One hour after the launch, a press conference is scheduled with Michael Griffin, NASA administrator; Wayne Hale, Space Shuttle Program manager; and Mike Leinbach, shuttle launch director. close
