Elizabeth Grossman talked about her book, High Tech Trash: Digital Devices, Hidden Toxics, and Human Health, published by Island Press. She described the health hazards of electronic waste, saying that chemicals used to make electronics are showing up as toxic substances in food and in the human body. She argued for changes in electronic manufacturing and disposal. After her presentation she responded to audience members' questions. close
