Representatives Hastings and Berman, as well as other members of the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct, announced the launch of an investigation into the conduct of House members and staff surrounding former Representative Foley’s resignation for improper electronic communications with a congressional page. They said that they had approved several subpoenas and would thoroughly examine any evidence of a cover up or negligence by personnel who may have damaged the reputation of the House.
