In a morning news conference prior to leaving for several days of vacation, President Bush talked with reporters about the U.S. economy, education, the condition of bridges, the closing of Guantanamo Bay, his trip to Texas, and other issues. He strongly supported staying in Iraq and said the U.S. wants “swift action” in removing al Qaeda terrorists in Pakistan. He responded to reporters' questions. close
