Stacy Cordery talked about her book, Alice: Alice Roosevelt Longworth, from White House Princess to Washington Power Broker, published by Viking Adult. In her book Stacy Cordery profiled Alice Roosevelt Longworth, the daughter of President Teddy Roosevelt. Ms. Cordery said that Alice Longworth was notorious for her flamboyant demeanor and sharp political mind. Commonly known as "the other Washington monument", Ms. Longworth embraced the role of adviser to both her father and husband, Nicolas Longworth, Speaker of the House from 1925 to 1931. Alice Roosevelt Longworth was a central figure in Washington’s political and social circles for eight decades. Following her remarks Ms. Cordery responded to questions from the audience. close
