A hearing was held on the Report to the Commissioner of Baseball of an Independent Investigation into the Illegal Use of Steroids and Other Performance Enhancing Substances by Players in Major League Baseball, commonly known as the “Mitchell Report.”

Former Senator Mitchell testified about his investigation, the methodologies used, and writing the report. Topics included testing for steroid use, therapeutic exemptions, and the role of the players' union. The committee will request that the Justice Department investigate the truth of shortstop Miguel Tejada’s 2005 testimony. close
