Secretary Alphonso Jackson announced that he is resigning from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. He spoke of his accomplishments and said that he needed to attend to personal and family matters. He did not answer questions.

The FBI is investigating Secretary Jackson’s alleged ties to a person hired by HUD to oversee New Orleans reconstruction. A Philadelphia housing authority is suing Mr. Jackson for trying to punish them for not transferring land to a friend. close
