to 31.6 mpg by 2015. Committe Chairman Markey stated that the figures used in the studies were flawed, as the analysis used a projection cost of $2.42 per gallon of gas in 2016 when the current cost per gallon is over 50 percent higher.

cars. A Nissan senior vice president said that his company plans a fully electric
vehicle ready for mass-market sales by 2012.
