Telephone lines were open for reaction to the opening day of the Democratic National Convention at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado, as live scenes were shown of the convention center as music played and then as delegates were interviewed about their experience of the convention. Leslie Bradshaw was interviewed by remote video from New Media Strategies headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, about the Internet reaction to the convention. Lynn Sweet was interviewed on the convention floor about this introduction to Senator Obama.

Video clips of Michelle Obama’s and Senator Edward Kennedy’s speeches were shown. Also shown were an ad called “Debra” released by the McCain campaign that day and a video clip of Senator Hillary Clinton reacting to it at the New York Delegation breakfast that morning. Skype video was shown in the background of a “Happy Hour for Hillary” being held at the Paramount Bar by the Republican National Committee and scenes of the delegates leaving the Pepsi Center close
