A hearing was held to review the safety of over-the-road buses and the effectiveness of current Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations governing bus safety. Senator Sherrod Brown, who co-sponsored motor coach legislation with Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, testified first. Family members of bus accident victims, safety advocates, and federal safety officials also testified.
