Authors discussed their new book on the Civil War. After the presentations, they responded to questions from members of the audience. Art Beltrone moderated.

David W. Lowe, author of Meade’s Army: The Private Notebooks of Lt. Col Theodore Lyman (Kent State University Press; May 30, 2007), is a historian for the National Park Service in the District of Columbia and Virginia. He is the author of Civil War Sites in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and Civil War in Loudoun Valley.

Peter Cozzens, author of Shenandoah 1862: Stonewall Jackson’s Valley Campaign (The University of North Carolina Press; August 22, 2008), is an independent scholar and foreign service officer with the U.S. Department of State. He is author or editor of nine Civil War books, including The Darkest Days of the War.
