Ambassador Nominations
In the first panel Jon M. Huntsman Jr. was introduced by Senators Hatch, Bennett, and McCain to be ambassador to China. Former Vice President Walter Mondale, former Senator Bill Bradley, and former House speaker Tom Foley introduced John Roos as the nominee for Japan.
Panel two nominees were Jonathan S. Addleton to be ambassador to Mongolia; Teddy Bernard Taylor to be ambassador to Papua New Guinea, and to serve concurrently and without additional compensation as ambassador to the Solomon Islands and as ambassador to the Republic of Vanuatu; Martha Larzelere Campbell to be ambassador to the Republic of the Marshall Islands; and Kenneth E. Gross Jr. to be ambassador to the Republic of Tajikistan.
