A panel of Long family members and family friends discussed the life, legacy, and accomplishments of Huey Long. The moderator was Bob Mann, who had served as press secretary to U.S. Senator Russell Long of Louisiana.

Huey Long Family” was a panel at the day-long symposium on the legacy of Huey Long held August 28, 2010, by Louisiana Secretary of State Jay Dardenne and the Foundation for Historical Louisiana in the Old State Capitol.

Huey Long was the 40th governor of Louisiana, from 1928 to 1932. He was also a United States senator from Louisiana, from 1932 to 1935. Huey Long was a powerful and controversial figure in Louisiana politics, and was assassinated September 8, 1935. close
