Republican Senator Scott Brown of Massachusetts talked about his autobiography Against All Odds: My Life of Hardship, Fast Breaks, and Second Chances (Harper, 2011), which was released a few days previously. In the book, Senator Brown discusses his personal and professional life, which includes his troubled childhood, his years playing basketball at Tufts University, his career as a model in New York City, and his rise as a national political figure. A lieutenant colonel in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps of the Massachusetts Army National Guard, he was a state senator when he was elected to the U.S. Senate on January 19, 2010, to fill the term of the late Senator Ted Kennedy. Senator Scott Brown spoke at a Reagan Forum at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. He responded to questions submitted by members of the audience. close
