Robert Mueller testified at an FBI oversight hearing. Director Mueller confirmed that the FBI had launched an investigation into leaks about an al-Qaida bomb plot aboard a U.S.-bound flight. He also said that such leaks during ongoing law enforcement operations damaged U.S. relationships with foreign partners. Other topics of discussion included the impact of possible sequestration to the FBI, cyber security issues, and the recent Washington Post story on the accuracy of FBI crime labs and forensics analysis. Director Mueller also talked bout the importance of reauthorizing the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). close
