Middle East scholars talked about political transition in the Maghreb region of Northwest Africa, which includes Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, and Morocco. Some of the subjects they addressed were governmental management of shifting expectations, existing governmental ability to manage new political environments, and new governments' use of power. After their discussion the panelists took questions from the audience.
