Jay Carney briefed reporters and answered questions. He urged the Senate to confirm one of President Obama’s nominees, Caitlin Halligan, for the District of Columbia Circuit Court of Appeals. He also said that the Obama administration would give the Senate Intelligence Committee more material before a vote on John Brennan to be director of the Central Intelligence Agency, and that the administration expected the United Nations Security Council to adopt a new resolution on North Korea’s nuclear program.
