Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) talked about his plan to limit the use of the filibuster to block presidential nominees. His proposal would lower the threshold for confirming nominees to the executive branch from 60 to 51 votes. He said he was open to other solutions but stressed his belief in the importance of confirming President Obama’s appointees to the Department of Labor, National Labor Relations Board, Environmental Protection Agency, and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. close
