Heritage Action held the last of nine health care town hall meetings as part of its effort to defund the Affordable Care Act. Former Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) and Michael Needham made presentations and responded to questions submitted by members of the audience. Former Senator DeMint called the law “un-American” and said the president’s policies would lead to more bankrupt cities like Detroit. Rafael Cruz, the father of Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) then spoke about socialized medicine in Cuba and his love of American principles. He made a call to action against the healthcare law.
