Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki talked about his country’s progress in security and political transition. He also addressed concerns of a bipartisan group of U.S. senators who say he is is not doing enough to stop the sectarian violence in the country, stressing the need for security assistance with counterterrorism weapons and intelligence tools to help track down al Qaeda terrorists in the country. Regarding Syria, he reiterated that Iraq would remain neutral in their position and support the will of the Syrian people. close
