A three-judge panel on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals heard oral argument on whether the U.S. Senate’s 60-vote filibuster rule is unconstitutional. The case, Common Cause v. Joseph Biden, seeks to have the 60 votes needed to overcome a filibuster thrown out and replaced with a simple majority rule. The lower District Court had dismissed the case saying Common Cause lacked standing to sue. close
