Advocates and opponents of the Keystone XL oil pipeline testified on the impact of the project to national interests. Senators' questions focused on jobs, energy prices, and global climate change and other environmental issues. Retired General James Jones told the committee that the project was integral to North American energy security. James Hansen in his opening statement, which included several charts and graphs, said the U.S. working with China to solve its pollution and air problems was crucial. close
