Sexual assault advocacy organization leaders, student victims, and campus safety officials spoke at a roundtable discussion on the effectiveness of the Clery Act and the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act, two laws enacted one in 1990, the other in 2012 to prevent sexual assault at colleges and universities. Some of the ideas they suggested to help victims were reporting standards for college campuses, changing the 180-day reporting requirement for victims, increased data collection on campuses, and penalization for colleges not being in compliance with Title IX.
