Bill Gates talked about the Ebola outbreak in Western Africa. He disagreed with a general assessment that the U.S. and international community responded too slowly to the outbreak in Western Africa, noting that the severity of the outbreak could not be predicted, but discussed how leadership could be improved. Topics included some fragile health systems in Africa and the need for more preventive care and preparation for emergencies. He responded to questions from members of the audience such as former Senator Chris Dodd.

“The Ebola Leadership Gap” was the first program in Politico’s “Lessons from Leaders” series of program, presented by Bank of America in the Bank of America Building. close
