President Obama made a statement after a grand jury in St. Louis chose not to press criminal charges against Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Missouri, police officer who killed an unarmed 18-year-old black man August 9, 2014. He said that regardless of whether anyone agrees or disagrees with the decision, it was the grand jury’s to make and should be accepted. He urged those who protest the decision to do so peacefully. close
