Witnesses testified on the the potential impact of repealing the Conservation Act of 1975 in light of increased domestic energy production in the U.S. during the Obama administration. The act included provisions intended to increase domestic production and reduce energy demand. Most of the panelists agreed that it was time to repeal the ban, but Deborah Gordon cautioned that more studies needed to be done on the possible effects of repeal. close
