Massachusetts Governor-elect Charlie Baker (R) was sworn into office in the House Chamber of the Massachusetts General Court at the State House on Boston’s Beacon Hill. In his inaugural address he talked about affordable education, an innovative government, and economic and community development. The lieutenant governor also spoke after being sworn in.

The ceremonies included posting of the colors, the pledge, the national anthem sung by Ms. Etienne-Campbell, an invocation by the Reverend Calhoun, “Let There Be Peace on Earth” sung by Ms. Taylor, and a benediction by Bishop Foxworth. The governor’s council was also sworn in. close
