Officials from the Office of the First Lady and Executive Residence staff briefed reporters on White House preparations for the April 28, 2015, state dinner honoring Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The dinner’s theme was “A Long Awaited Spring,” and featured food from Japanese guest chef Masaharu Morimoto, working together with White House executive chef Cris Comerford. The dinner also served as the debut of the Obama state china service. This was the eighth state dinner hosted by the Obama administration.
