A funeral service was held at First United Methodist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, for former House Speaker and Representative Jim Wright (D-TX). Representative Wright died on May 6, 2015, at the age of 92. Representative Wright served 34 years in congress from 1955 to 1989. He was majority leader from 1977 to 1987, at which point he was elected Speaker of the House. He resigned the Speakership and his seat in 1989 amid an ethics investigation. close
