Old Mission Santa Barbara Library and Archives

Monica Orozco gave a tour of the archives of the Old Mission Santa Barbara and shared items that tell the story of the Mission and the surrounding area of Santa Barbara. Containing over 4,000 books with topics ranging from theology to medicine, the archive tells the history of the Mission System in California.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2016 LCV Cities Tour” in Santa Barbara, California, from January 9-15 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Cox Communications local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
