Senate Republican leaders spoke to reporters following their weekly policy lunch. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced that Republican Senate Conference members had agreed the replacement for the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia should be nominated by President Obama’s successor. Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-TX) said Republican members of the Judiciary Committee sent a letter to Leader McConnell saying they unanimously agreed that President Obama’s yet-to-be-announced nominee should not get a hearing. close
