His Holiness the Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso spoke at a U.S. Institute of Peace event focusing on the role of youth leaders in resolving world conflict. The Buddhist spiritual leader began the event with a minute of silent prayer for the previous-day shooting an a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, in which at least 100 people were injured or killed. He told the audience that if a person creates bloodshed, then that person is no longer a practitioner of Islam. close
