The Radio and Television Correspondents' Association held its 72nd annual awards dinner at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, D.C. Governor John Kasich (R-OH), a former candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, delivered the keynote address. Hasan Minhaj, a comedian, actor, and senior correspondent on “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” served as the guest entertainer for the dinner. This portion of the program began with a video memorializing journalists who had died during the year. Videos of award-winning work were shown as the David Bloom Award was presented to Ian Pannell; the Joan Barone Award to Jonathan Karl; the Jerry Thompson Award to Peter Doherty; and the Career Achievement Award to Dennis Dunleavy. close
