President Obama announced the upcoming implementation of the international 2015 Paris agreement to combat climate change. In a statement in the White House Rose Garden, he said the agreement “will delay and avoid some of the worst consequences of climate change.” A threshold for implementing the deal was reached allowing it to go into effect in November 2016. close
