President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Dec. 8, 1941 address to Congress asking for a declaration of war, along with his fireside chat to the nation on Dec. 9. Also, a portion of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s address to Congress on Dec. 26 1941; and oral history interviews with veterans who were at Pearl Harbor on the day of the attack. Lynne Olson, whose books include “Those Angry Days: Roosevelt, Lindbergh, and America’s Fight Over World War II, 1939-1941.” was interviewed. close
