C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2017 LCV Cities Tour” in Richmond, Virginia, from January 21-27 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2.

Professor Ryan Smith talked about his book, Robert Morris’s Folly: The Architectural and Financial Failures of an American Founder. Known as the “financier of the Revolution,” Robert Morris personally funded the continental army under George Washington and is one of only two founders to have signed the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the Constitution.
