Telephone lines were open for viewer calls and social media comments on the question, “Do you have confidence in the government to handle natural disasters?” The question referred to Tropical Storm Harvey, which made landfall near Corpus Christi, Texas, the previous Friday evening as a hurricane and was continuing to drop massive amounts of rain in the southeast part of the state.

Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Brock Long spoke by phone about the latest news on the storm. close
