Former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Samantha Power talked about the role of the U.S. in the world. In an interview moderated by Abraham Foxman, who served as national director of the Anti-Defamation League from 1987-2015, Ambassador Power talked about American global influence, some of the issues she dealt with as ambassador, and the challenges facing the world. She also talked about what she saw as her successes and failures in her time in the Obama administration. While she was critical of the Trump administration and its foreign policy approach, she expressed optimism in the number of young people and women getting involved in politics and contended that America’s institutions and democratic principles were stronger than any given individual occupying the White House. close
