The Council on Foreign Relations hosted a discussion on U.S.-North Korea relations with former Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Mike Mullen and Korea expert Victor Cha. They talked about what a meeting between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un might entail and what actionable goals each side could bring to negotiations. Additionally, they discussed the role of other countries in the negotiating process, including South Korea, Japan, China and Russia, and how these efforts compare to previous attempts to ease tensions on the Korean Peninsula. close
