President Trump met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. President Trump commented on a potential meeting with North Korea, saying, “I look forward to meeting with Kim Jong-un and hopefully that will be a success. And maybe it will be. And maybe it won’t be. We don’t know, but we’ll see what happens. But I can say this, they respect us and we’ll be respectful of them.” The president added that the two countries have started direct talks at “extremely high levels” and that five sites have been picked as potential locations for the meeting and that a decision will be finalized soon. close
