IRS National Taxpayer Advocate Nina Olson and tax professionals testified before a Senate Finance subcommittee to discuss tax administration issues and IRS oversight. Ms. Olson outlined the main challenges of the IRS which include information technology, agency oversight and funding, taxpayer services and use of technology automation. Witnesses also talked about IRS personnel training, taxpayer authentication, and outreach efforts to small businesses, as well as low-income and rural populations. close
